Because you Tan Tan Tan

Let me just start this out by saying that to find the ultimate self tanner is kind of like finding a needle in a haystack. After many years of frying my skin in tanning booths I started my search for the perfect self tanner. I tried every one on the market any have always ended up orange and streaky. After giving up for a few years on my search I started again this year. I think I read every review before picking a few to try.

I have found my top 3 and let me just say that they are all totally different but I love them all for different reasons

The first is St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse with Mit $36.50. I love the mousse formula, it is so easy to apply especially with the mitt. It has a minimal smell and a very natural look. It does however take a while to show the color. I put it on in the morning and the color started to show throughout the day. It takes a few applications to get a darker color, but it definitely does not wear off on your clothes.

My next favorite is the Bare Escentuals Faux Tan $22.00. I absolutely love the color this tanner gives me. The first time around it is a dark rich color. It is very easy to apply because the product is almost like a chocolate colored gel. I used the brush applicator to apply which made it so easy because you did not have worry about that weird color tanners always leave on your hands. The only downside is you have to be careful what you wear after you put it on because it does transfer and if I do not apply very carefully I have had a few streaks.

The last tanner I am going to recommend is my ultimate favorite. It works so well it almost seems to good to be true. It is the Kate Somererville 360 Tanning Towelettes $59.00. The best way to describe it is like a giant baby wipe. One towel will do your whole body which I did not believe until I tried it for myself. The whole process is so simple and only takes a few minutes which I love because it seems like there are never enough hours in the day. This is another product that does not show up right away. I generally put it on in the evenings before bed and wash it off in the morning. Of all the tanners this one has hardly any smell. It also takes a few applications to get to a deep shade.

I just want to add a side note to all of these. I make sure to exfoliate and always put lotion on my elbows, knees and around my ankles and toes before I apply to avoid the dark areas.
